Abstract Different tasks in the computational pipeline of single-particle cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) require enhancing quality highly noisy raw images. To this end, we develop an efficient algorithm for signal enhancement cryo-EM The enhanced images can be used a variety downstream tasks, such as two-dimensional classification, removing uninformative images, constructing ab initio models, generating templates particle picking, providing quick assessment data set, dimensionality reduction, and symmetry detection. includes built-in measures to assess its performance alleviate risk model bias. We demonstrate effectiveness proposed on several experimental sets. In particular, show that resulting is high enough produce models $ \sim 10 Å resolution. accompanied by publicly available, documented, easy-to-use code.
